The Book of Secrets in the Results of Ideas was copied in 1266 from the original text written by Ibn Khalaf al-Mur?d? in the 11th century. The manuscript’s only copy is preserved in the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana of Florence, Italy. Its unique value is because it presents descriptions and designs of more than thirty ingenious devices, including large automata systems, water clocks, calendars and war machines. It is a primary source for the study of medieval Arabic technology.
