It is first of a series of monographs about the molluscs of the Galapagos with revision of four families.32 species are discussed and 25 species plus synonyms are illustrated on 26 color plates, about 140 specimens figured. A black-white plate shows S.E.M. photos of radulas. Synonomies are given and citations by other authors are referenced, complete original descriptions are cited and type material of valid species and major synonyms, when available, is illustrated in color. Data on geographical distribution and habitat are summarized.
