Creating a book is in ways similar to creating a play. There are many cast members. I am more the producer, the organizer, the co-ordinator. Anecdotes are the spices to the stories of these great passenger ships and, of course, readers are always interested in different and unpublished views of them. Therefore, I must reach out to supportive, generous and often patient friends, other historians, fellow enthusiasts. Clearly, there would be no books without them. They supply the stories, the recollections, those added in sights. They also supply the brochures, the sailing schedules and those splendid pictures, the glossy views and the pristine post cards. I remain in great debt to each and every one of them.
