The Seafood Quiz was developed for people in the food business who buy, handle, or sell seafood products and for people in all sectors of the seafood industry, from fishermen to retailers. Originally compiled by Hank McAvoy for the Gulf and South Atlantic Fisheries Development Foundation, the Seafood Quiz has been extensively edited and enlarged. It tests basic, and not so basic, knowledge of nomenclature, finfish, molluscs and crustaceans, commercial fishing, storage and handling, seafood products, quality, health and regulations, nutrition, cooking, and fishery science. It also includes some trivia questions for those fond of more obscure facts. It is a refresher test for experienced "fish people" and an indoctrination course for new ones. Test your knowledge of seafood and the industry. You may be surprised at how much (or how little) you really know!
