The Six Metre - 100 Years of Racing Pekka Barck and Tim Street have prepared an exceptionally informative history of the boats. When Singapore fell in 1942, the Captain of the Dockyard found an International Six Metre Class yacht at the Royal Singapore Yacht Club and escaped under sail. That is probably the most unusual episode involving a `Six in the 100 years since the first International Yacht Measurement Rule brought the class into existence. To commemorate the centenary, over 40 of these beautiful open day boats, both classics and moderns, attended the 2007 world championship at Cowes. Now Pekka Barck and LtCol Tim Street have prepared an exceptionally informative history of the boats. Both authors are established authorities. In the late 1980s, Tim brought the class back into racing in British waters; he sails the boats, tracks down ones to be restored, and is the first ever British President of the International 6-metre Association.
